heater not working

I have a manual controlled heater. Does any vent sound when you move the manual control to heat. I do not hear any vents opening or closing when I move the control. I believe that it is the cable that connects to the vent that allows heat to enter into the cab. Has anyone had the same problem? Everything else works....all the other controls. Help Iam cold.
