power hesitation???

The symptoms would be like if I were riding the clutch, the rpm's raise but the power isn't reaching the rear wheels as fast as it should be. It occurs both when starting out in the lower gears out of OD and when in fourth gear OD when I apply WOT. I took the car to the Chevy dealer who did a complete diagnostic and found I needed a new AC compressor and belt but other than that they could not find anything wrong. Any ideas???
