Lots of folks ran a new best yesterday and we had some fun watching the Pro 8 guys strut their stuff.

lowets(Mike) did a demonstration of what his car does when launched with the trans brake. If he didn't have wheelie bars, I think he probably could have flipped the car over.

Thanks to the long distance guys(ski dwn it,Corkvette and SEEYAA) and especially Keith Valone(spltwindo) coming all the way from FLA to run with us.

Keith took the win in the Vette Doctors Pro 8 and Rick(SEEYAAA) took the win in the brackets.

i noticed that vic is running quicker in the L-98.....does he have more mods, or just a fast L-98?

If I'm not mistaken Vic has headers, but I'm not sure what else. His car is a lot stronger than mine off the line and that plays a part in the ET.

With the numbers you put up, it would be a great piece of data to see what type of performance they'd yield.
They (LT headers) are legal in NJ, aren't they?

Yes and no on the headers. In most cases, the cats won't fit which would make them illegal, but some cats will fit, but since the cats are supposed to be in a certain place, they may be deemed illegal. This is just from what I've read, I don't know that or a fact. What I do know is that the car is still capable of more as is, well with a few minor changes.

Panuzzo managed a 12.20 in his '96, the only difference between his and mine is the gears(he has 3.73) and roller rockers. Other than that we are identical.

He was running a tenth better than me with the stock wheels on the car, if he had the lightweight wheels, he could easily shave off another tenth or more. I know with his 3.73's he's got a .08 advantage on the 60'.

Da*n, that mine shaft air must have been awsome. Even with the track conditions less than desirable all I have been seeing is
NEW BEST, NEW BEST, etc.
Wish I was there.

Oh yeah, Congrats!!! A best is always great.

Nice run Frank! How many cars do you guys typically get at these events? Do you guys bracket race and have eliminations and stuff like that? Or is it just heads up racing and the quickest cars take home the trophy? When's your next event planned?

Hey Nat, we've had as many as a hundred cars, but typically 60-70.

We run brackets, but four times a year we run the Pro 8 in conjunction with the brackets. The Pro 8 is heads up, and the competition is getting tougher and quicker each time out.

The first three Saturday's of November are our last three for the year. They will all be bracket racing.

Mr Mojo, what kind of effect does that converter have on daily drivability?

None at all, although I did put a tranny cooler on to be safe.
