I have the hooker header one's and there great. But they have 1 3/4 primary tubes. Wich are too bid for a stock engine.
The headman headers are good. But on hear i've heard nothing but bad things about them. There alot cheaper. I heard that none of the y-pipes that comes wiht them are any good but im not too sure because i have a true duell set up.
Another opiton you could go with is the exotic muscle .com they have a good quality header in the 15/8 style.
Your going to spend money on this. And you get what you pay for.

I agree, go for the 1 5/8" unless you're going with heads with fantastic flow at the exhaust ports + some serious chp.

Hedman's are cheap, go for these if you don't care. EM will be a good choice if you are keeping your vette. At any rate be sure they're coated BOTH inside & out....so if you're spending money on this aspect you might as well get much better EM headers. Hedman's would have to be coated via effort on your behalf, and imho wouldn't be worth the final cost.

When it's all said and done, *no* header setup is going to be cheap. You can save some money on installation if you can DIY (although I don't recommend it unless you have a lift and air tools, at least for the EMs). Another place to save money is in the cats - LT headers will not work with factory catalytic converters, so you either have to run aftermarket cats or no cats. If you don't live in an emission controlled state, running no cats will save you ~400-500 (on the cats themselves) and will give you a louder exhuast note. The best advice I can give, though, is to just really do your homework on this one. Call the companies - make sure their headers will work with *your* model-year car, transmission type, etc. Then decide based on what fits your budget and reviews of owners here. Make sure you have some extra money set aside on top of the price of the headers, labor, etc., as you just might need it. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me or email me!

Plus a block and/or a crank. No normal, streetable, 350 or 383, engine can produce enough exhaust volume to exceed the capacity of the 1 5/8ths" tubed headers. With the smaller headers you get a boost in low rpm torque that the 1 3/4" headers can't duplicate.

Hedman has a variety of header part numbers. Both coated and uncoated. If you decide to look into the Hedman's, look closely at their "Elite" series.

RACE ON!!!

PS. Do a search on this subject. There have been reams written.

I went with the Hedman HTC coated headers for $325 shipped from Jegs for my 85. I have true dual exhaust with no smog hookups at all and couldn't be happier with my purchase. My installation was around $250 from a local muffler shop as there are some modifications that had to be made to both the ac pump and the alternator. My buddy did say that this would be the last C4 header install that he would do as it took the better part of a day between other customers and phone calls.

Hedman makes both coated and non for your vette. The Pn I have may not fit your year, as the smog rails may be different. I beleive theyre around 319 for painted and 600+ for coated .Whatever brand you choose, Definetly go for 1-5/8 on your 350. The bigger is better principle does not always apply to TPI motors. Just my op'n.
