looking for a descent quarter mile car in the 13's and a real good top end car.
is it really worth the difference (3100 compared to 1250 + throttle body)?????????
any comments appreciated.

Whoa.... what is that 3100 for?
You want 13s, and top end? You already have a car that can do the 13s part. The L98s can/have/will break into the 13s with lots of practice. As far as top end, how fast do you really want to go? Right now your car should be able to hit about 155mph. If you were to up the HP to around 400, you should be able to get to 180mph.

You should be capable of 150+ with your current configuration. As for the SR or MR. The MR makes it power high in the RPM band where the SR makes it down low. Like the difference with the LT-1 and the L-98.

There are many parameters, which you must research first.
1)Do I have to pass Smog/Visual tests?
2)How much money do I want to spend?
3)Do I have the mechanical ability to perform an intake system swap-out, or pay a shop?
4)What is my realistic use of the vehicle; mostly street driven, or mostly track time.
5)Do I like Torque, or do I want to spin the engine to 7000RPM's?
5)Since I'm spending all this money on a good intake system, should I save up for a 383 build up also?
6)When I eventually want to return to stock for re-sell of this vehicle, which intake system will most likely lead me down a pathway of No-Return?
When you have researched these questions & more on this Forum and others, you will have your answer! BTW, I think your $3100 price is for the Accel S/R system package! This includes the S/R, DFI computer system, injectors, fuel rails, TB, wiring harnesses and all the little stuff. You only need the S/R Plenum, Runners, Base(Intake), and a 52mm TB.
I recently purchased the S/R Plenum, Runners, Base(Intake) from a Corvette Forum, group purchase for $900!

150+ will be attained in 5th gear, not 6th. The L98 doesn't have enough ***** to pull through 6th gear with the ZF6.
Something doesn't sound right there.......

4500RPM in 5th gear at 105MPH? Sounds a little hoaky to me...then again, it is a 3.45 gear.
As for getting top end...you need to go with a cam when you do the intake. Trust me...the stock L98 cam has NO high RPM power capability. In fact, you will get a bigger gain switching the cam by itself over the intake by itself.
Your call...either way you need to get a chip programmed for your combo or it all just 'won't work' very well.

Unless you want to go 11's, don't go for the Mini-ram. The Superram is much more fun to drive and actually feels more powerful at any RPM below 5000. I and so many of my friends were dissappointed at the very obvious loss in low end torque when we installed a Mini-ram. For all out racing and winding the motor out to 6500RPM, it is the way to go. I wouldn't suggest it for the street.
PS: You can go low 13's with the stock L98 intake and some basic mods.

Read my sig then you decide. BTW, there's another 50 h.p. here with some fuel tweaking in the chip. It's running very rich on the top end. You definitely need to change camshafts along with intakes and TB. Everyone is correct, my 1990 STOCK motor did 13.90 with NO MODS. Take yours to the track and try it.

Sorry that G/P ended awhile back, it was done by Cruzin Performance, who gave a hell of a deal to a lot of people. Call 'em up and ask for Rich, tell him you're a CVF member and missed out on the info. He might give you a break on the prices still?

How many of you are happy with the mini-ram and have had any problems installing or any problems at all? Does the same injectors fit, wire harness, sensiors, throttle and cruise cables fit the same too?

I have had, and still have some problems with the throttle/tv cable linkage on the miniram. But there's no way I'll give up the 6500+ rpm's I can get with the it. Hey Toeman, since you're in Slidell, email me your phone# and I'll give you a call and take you for a ride one day. I come to slidell just about every week for a day or two.
