Good question, the only time mine goes off is when I close the hatch too hard or my aftermarket goes off accidentally ! 
I take it you know to put your key in the door and turn the lock, and it will go off, right?

As far as I know, the 85 only blows the horn if the doors, hatch or hood are opened while armed. It may also do something else? With the window down and you outside the car, arm the system by locking the drivers door from the outside with the key. Now reach inside and open the door. If all is working the horn should sound. Close the door, lock and unlock with the key to silence the horn. Others may correct me.
