Default Help!!! Problem with Bose CD

I Have a 92 with 65K and it has been sitting for as long a a month without being used. The CD player was working fine when I parked the car but now when you put the cd in it makes a clicking noise and dosen't play then ejects the cd. I also get a loud pop sometimes from speakers. Put cd cleaner disk in but didn't help.

cd has died. pretty much on cue.

the belts get hard and brittle from lack of use.

you have choices...

1) contact Dr Don's, I don't remember the URL, but he can recondition your head unit.

2) Bose is reconditioning amps and speakers for a real song.

3) go aftermarket.

If you decide to go aftermarket, take this thread to the Audio section.

My '92 did the same thing once after sitting for a long period. I finally got it to work. Drive the car for 15 to 20 minutes with the radio playing and then try the CD. Mine seems to work better when it's warm. I had to keep putting the CD in; finally it accepted it. Also, use a fairly new CD, and try different CDs. Mine won't play a CD sometimes if it's even a little scratched. Since this happened, I haven't had any other problems, even after sitting for weeks again.

I guess these CD players are very touchy!
