A froiend of mine says they make a aftermarket ignition switch that eliminates the VATS. Anyone heard of this??? Im thinkin it would screw everything up
Vats measures the pellet resistance of your ignition key and if it isn't within a few percent, then the start enable relay will not close and your starter will not run. VATS doesn't affect anything else. Bypassing VATS makes it easy for the dumb car thief to steal your car (most of them are dumb). I recommend you maintain your VATS function. I personally know some vette owners that had their steering column busted open , but the car stayed right where they parked it because the inept car thieves couldn't start it.
