Default new to site... need help

First of all I have been observing this site for a month or two and it is the best!! I have learned tons from you guys. I recently bought my vette and have many bugs to work out.The biggest problem I am having is the rear end. If I jerk the wheel back and forth, I feel the rearend is squirrely. It seems like something is loose back there. I have jacked it up and checked every possible connection but everything seems tight. Also, when I accelerate I feel it too. I cant figure it out and it is driving me crazy! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.BTW its an 88

Did you check the bushings in the four "dogbones". Mine were shot and I replaced them fairly easily. Bushings holding sway bar and the ones in the endlinks. How are your shocks? Do they absorb bumps well? Tires and air pressure?

Make sure your air pressure is up to around 35 psi. Could be wide tires on narrow wheels.

I had this problem and found bad halfshaft u-joints. Once I tore it apart the ones I thought were still good were shot as well.

Sounds like you have soft tires. Try, to fill the rear tires to 35 lbs. and try to move the wheel and see if there is a change.

Still no luck. I adjusted the tire pressure to 35 psi and it helped slightly. The bushings seem fairly new with no visible cracking. I did notice that the left wheel bearing has a little play in it. About 1/16" either way. Could this be a problem or no, because it wiggles very little. Oh, and the shocks are decent also. Im stumped!!
