Alright, last question (for now....) So if the vehicle sets a code 54 (high/low fuel pump circuit voltage) is that basically telling me the relay is shot? where is that voltage measurement taken - at the pump? What sorts of things do I need to be looking at. Keep in mind my '85 vette still runs and drives, but has seemed to lose just a bit of ***** the past couple of days, and idles a bit rough. Does it sound like a fuel pump gone bad?
I also have the following codes, for reference purposes:
Code 52 - calpack missing or faulty
Code 53 - system voltage too high.
I am sure my alternator isn't overcharging. The vehicle has a hypertech thermomaster chip in it. Any suggestions?

No! It does NOT sound like a fuel pump gone bad. If the pump were bad or weak, you would have worse drivability problems. The engine will run just fine with the oil pressure switch powering the fuel pump. Chances are the code 54 was triggered by a "bad" reading at the fuel pump relay. That MAY be the relay or it could be the wiring or other things. DON'T replace the relay based on the code, only. Trouble shoot it. *I* don't know how your other codes interact with the code 54. My guess is that they don't. THEY could be the cause of the drivability problems.
