I noticed a SLIGHT amount on my exhaust the other day...Rear has a smidge of a leak. In traffic a few days ago, I was like" What is THAT SMELL" LOL I then remembered it was the gear oil burning off the exhaust. IT WREAKS. I don't know what's worse...gear oil or cat pee.
I can just imagine..that stuff stinks so bad I cant stand going near it..in fact I paid someone to change the gear lube for me once before so I wouldnt have to get all dirty and stinky...I didnt mind spending the money for that at the Vette shop, even though I always do my own oil changes and work on the vette.
Ok, so I'm a little weird then. My grandfather had his own excavating business which meant that he had dozers, dump trucks etc. and always had gear lubes around the pole barns. That smell reminds me of when I was a kid messing hanging out with him and messing with the machinery. I don't mind it at all
