Default L98 TPS adjustment

Is it worth the time or effort to adjust the TPS from .54V to .60 or .65V on the L98

That is good general advice but in this case, if you have a '85-'89 L98 that mod will give crisper throttle response and improve power at part throttle acceleration.

I don't think so, considering the spec is .54 +/- .08 which is .46 to .62. It may, repeat may, give you better off idle repsonse but I don't really think you'll notice, nor has that ever been proven. Make sure you've within spec and more importantly that you've got max approx. 4.5 volts at WOT.

No problem with your '91 as the ECM will simply "learn" base idle and WOT regardless of the TPS readings.

Agree that nothing happens - as long as it's running right. If it isn't, fix whatever is wrong with it.

I've got an 85 that had an off idle stumble that was driving me nuts. I set the TPS at .65 and it's a different car with no side effects whatsoever. Go for it.

The problem may be due to your '91 ECM "finding" base TPS setting whereas our older ECMs just accept the value.

Maybe you would have better success by putting the TPS back to stock base reading and bumping base timing.
