Default Tires

I need new rear tires for my 96 Collector Edition. I currently have Firestone Firehawks (285's) but I have found they are apparently no longer made. Mid america used to offer specials on them, but I found they are no longer offered there either. Does anyone have any suggestions. My front tires (also firehawks) are nearly new.

I got my tires in Arizona at Discount Tire. Here in Cali, they're called America's Tire Co., but it's essentially the same place. They can get any tire, from any manufacturer...and they'll beat anybody's price. My advice would be to pay the extra few bucks and get the lifetime road hazard protection the offer. All in all, the best service-related experience I've had with the 'Vette *yet*.

Get Kumho's. They are the best bang-for-the-buck around right now.

I paid $192 + $8 shipping for 4 GY Eagle Ultra HP Plus from Tire Rack.

They've been on less than a week but I really like em. For the first day or so they didn't seem to hook too well on the street but they seem to be improving. I'll find out how they do at the strip this Sat.

Thanks for the input. I have checked out the Kumhos and agree they seem to be the best performance bargin out there. I was hoping to find some Firehawks stashed away at a tire outlet somewhere (to keep from having to buy four new tires or miss match with the fronts) but I think I am out of luck!
