i have run both NGK and Bosch platinum's with good success. MSD spiral wies. I have a set of Moroso;'s I'm about to install The MSD's lasted me about 3 years.
AC Delco plugs and AC Delco wires in mine now. I have used Bosch platinum with no problems, but more than one mechanic has told me that the platinum tips have been known to come off. Don't know if it's true or not, just what I have been told.
Use Mobil 1 synthetc, BMW tranny oil, limted sip additives to the diff. As for what I run - new old stock (NOS, plenty of it. I So ACDelcoRapid through, and they work grate. Ones that were as OEM equipment, I might. oh and don't even with Bosch. Filteration come from the smoke. o well then you undo the top, and clean it
My advice is to custom build your own wires using the MSD 8.5 Super Conductor wire and their terminals using their cutting and crimping tool. That way you can dress the wires exactly like you want so the headers won't touch them. You even have the option of 90 degree plug terminals or straights. I found the 90s clear the headers better and dress the wires towards the looms nicer. I use NGK TR55IX plugs, Iridiums. I've had them in for over 2 years now with no problems at all. Why mess with success.
Since you're installing headers it will now be very easy to change your plugs. As such you can save yourself a TON of money and avoid platinum / irridium and all the other high dollar gimmick plugs out there. These plugs do not make any more horsepower than others, in fact they will foul out in no time if your tune is no 100% perfect.
Consider a set of platinum plugs that cost $60, they are supposed to last 100k miles. Now consider a set of AC Delco R44LTS plugs, you can buy the whole set for $10 and they will easily last 30k miles.
Do the math and you've got 180k miles worth of plugs for the same money, you just have to change them every few years. Some platinum plugs, and the irridiums can cost upwards of $100 a set! Then you're looking at 300k miles out of the same money.
The fact of the matter is that anybody who gives half a rip about there car is going to at least pull the plugs out at less than 100k miles. If you pull the plug out there is no reason in hell why you wouldn't put a brand new one back in. $100 spark plugs are a joke.
Get some NGK TR55's, Autolite 106's, or AC Delco R44LTS's. I prefer the Delco's because they are cheap enough and you can get them ANYWHERE.
