I dropped the trans. out tonight, and thought i would try to split the 4 from the od to see about replacing the seal in there. I have the gear oil in the od problem. I can live with it if the od does not work, but I would like to see if I can seal it up. Yes I would like to go to a different transmission, but not in the budget. So any advice or thoughts would be helpful, thanks in advance, Randy
All I can offer is the transmission section from my G.M. manual. It is a very large file so I have it broken down to 3 sections so I am able to email it.
Send me a PM if your interested
Not to make light of the situation, some people have found that if you can live with the slightly noisier gears, using ATF in both cases of the transmission will eliminate the possibilty of cross-contamination and is perfectly acceptable/compatible as a lubricant for the Super T-10 four-speed.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Interesting... what's yer source? I'd like to hear more about this...
ATF, in general , works well in automotive standard gearboxes. I was concerned when I first heard that, much as you are. There are many threads dealing with this subject but I can't find them now! I'm sure there are folks out there who've seen this before. Several manufacturers are currently using ATF in their manual transmissions. I use Dexron-Mercon III in my ROD 6-speed.

Thanks agent, I have one of those manuals also. I was hoping for someone that had split the cases and replaced what ever seal leaks through in there. I hoped to hear from someone that has done it.
Also thanks frank for the pm and advice. I would like to hear more discussion on the atf in the 4 speed gear box issue, not sure I would do that though.
Been running Mobil syn atf in mine now for about 3 months and have no problems, in fact the trans shifts smoother now and the bearing noise from when the overdrive is off actually became quiet. Just check the trans level after installing because the level will go down (leaking into the od) untill it levels out in both units. Eventually I want to have the od repaired but I am concerned about finding someone out there who will rebuild it with the latest upgrades especially after finding out the upgrade parts are no longer available. Any help out there on a good rebuilder will be appreciated.
Saw this at the parts store, and after reading the bottle, and reading on their site, it might be the way for all 4+3 people to go. Not this brand only, but the whole idea of not redoing the od, and have it go out due to gear oil. I think I am going to give it a try, or the before mentioned mobile one.
