Drove the car yesterday, ran fine, no problem. I have recently installed a Vortex rammer system in the car, and I noticed that the air filter was not attached to it, so I reattached.
Today (Sunday), I took the car for a ride, and noticed it was hesistating, and didn't have the power it normally has, then it stopped, and I could not get it to start. I had the car towed home. The car cranks, it has gas, and I disconnected the Vortex System just in case there maybe something blocking the MAF. Car still will not start!! Any ideas???????????
Yes, I have spark, I also have the check engine light, but isn't that normal if the engine won't turn over? My cell is 631-741-0406 in case you have time, and it would save time to write on the board.
i have a 91 auto as well. my car started to hesitate and at times would not start. i checked the fuel pressure and it was fine i took it into the shop and they could not find problem. so they had the car all night and the next day it would not start they checked the pressure and it was low, my problem was the fuel pump not working all the time i had it changed in august and it works great now. maybe this will help
Just left the shop, and the car starts, but runs lean after replacing the ignition module. Map sensor checked out, and tomorrow they're going to start with the fuel filter. Any suggestions. I've known the owner for over twenty years, in case your wondering if I'm being milked.
Thanks for the help gang.
The car is fixed. The ignition module went bad, as I said in an earlier post, but it also fried a wire leading into the harness, which made the car run lean, and erractic. The mechanic was able to track said wire and splice it. Car is running smooth and strong, and goes through the gears well. Again, thanks for the PM's with all your suggestions.
