Serviced beakes on my 84, calipers, rotors, stainless brake lines. Went through the bleeding sequence once, took fluid and air out at each using speed bleeders. Pedal seemed firm when I was done. Started car up and tested pedal, went to floor again, lost firmness. Do I need to go through the sequence again or am I doing something wrong?
Is the car suppose to be running when you do this?

Check for leaks at the bleeders...
Does the fluid level in the res drop after a few strokesof the pedal? If it does, it's a leak at the master or at the bleeders... if not, it's just not bled properly.
The resrvoir doesn't go down after a few strokes unless the bleeders are open. I tried it again and it is better, but still not there yet. I guess I should bleed again?
I've heard that the speed bleeders can sometimes cause leaks.
You might try std bleeders with a piece of tubing over the bleeder and into a can of brake fluid. Then when you pump the pedal and release it slowly air will not be able to be sucked back into the caliper.
