This winter I am changing the ring and pinion in my 90 6 speed car. I am debating on whether or not buying different output shafts or having mine cryoed. I need something to handle the abuse of 500 rwhp and 26x10 et drags. I am already planning on upgrading halfshafts. What do the guys going fast have done.
1.9's with a single plane efi 219 cammed 350 with a 3.33. I would like to see some 1.5's out of my new motor. I would really like to do it "right" the first time
hahaha i think u think im a moron...
im planning on getting a dana 44 from a salvage yard here in ga and its 3.07..cheapest, and 3.33 would be an upgrade.
thanks
Sean
They will be for sale. I'll have to take them out before I can come up with an asking price though. They don't whine or anything, but they do have 103,000 on them.
Nobody has any suggestions on building a stronger D44?.
My thoughts:
Cryoed case and output shafts
Dana gears
nitrous ready 1/2 shafts
The only bad thing about a stick car is they don't put any load on the drive train. Build it the best way that you can. I would leave the halfshafts as the week link. You should still be able to do your 1.5x 60'
for the strongest dana 44,
get viper gears 3.91. then have the inside grinded down a bit and the chuck a little bit too and they will fit. they are a whole lot thinker. then get them cryoed. also get the housing cryoed as well. and then get a master install kit and change out all the bearings and stuff!
I can cryo for you, since im a supporting vendor.
ring and pinion on $110.
let me know!
thanks alot

no, didn't think that... just didn't know you were getting a D44.
There is a lot of misinformation, or, generally confused information, that gets things mixed up at times... just clarifying a point.
