Vacuum lines
www.diabolicalperformance.com/vacuumlines.htm
I'm 99% sure these vacuum lines are not critical to the basic operations of the engine/car. I'm guessing they go to the headlights and I'm not sure what else. Does anybody know? There are 3 lines running along the driver side wheelwell. I'd like to go ahead and start the car and drive it before I finish rerouting these vacuum lines. I know they don't affect fuel, brakes, or engine. So, there's not much left that could kill me.
The second question is - Where can I get some "good looking" unions for vacuum lines? I mean, like "T"s and "F"s, etc. Summit doesn't have anything, and my local auto parts store just has really cheapy white plastic stuff that looks bad. I've searched the web and found nothing either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Another of my usual esoteric questions, sorry.
By the way, once I'm done with the streetable crankcase evac setup, I'll put a post on here with a link to the page I'm using to document the work.
The headlights don't use vacuum, on a C4. Up front you have vacuum to the evaporation canister, vapors returning back from the canister, and the cruise control, just off the top of my head. The "ball" vacuum reservoir is up there too.
RACE ON!!!
Maybe at a hydroponics shop also.
Depending on the size, you may find brass ones at a different jobber. My local jobber keeps a huge rack of brass fittings. I can't tell whats what in the pic. I remember reading an article in the early 80's using a reed valve setup on the header to evac the crankcase. What setup are you putting together.
Good Luck

On my vette, the vacuum lines on the drivers side feed the cruise control and vapor canister purge valves & solenoid. The canister is there to keep the gas tank from building up pressure, which is more of an emissions item, when raw vapors get forces out.
I'm defiinitely interested in hearing more about your pcv setup.
