Good, bad, otherwise? I am still trying to diagnose my hard starting issue. I'm going to do another fuel system test only this time i'm going to leave the pressure tester on it for a long time. My gut tells me it's fuel related. If it's the injectors i'm not gonna bother checking each one, i'm gonna replace all. Are the Accel ones good?

Accel injectors are nothing more than reboxed Bosch injectors. They are fine and work well. When you say hard to start please describe the problem. It could be that the fuel pressure is leaking down. Or you could have a sensor problem on cold or hot restarts. When the car does finally restart do you notice any amounts of black smoke out the rear end? This would indicate a leaking injector causing a flooded problem.
Haven't seen any smoke. The car spins over alot more than it used to before firing. It has also sputtered a few times after starting and i have to give it some gas to help it recover. This has only happened when the motor is warm. It sure seems like fuel to me.
Hey Polo.... I have Accel in my 96 LT1. They run great... If your car is OBDII .... You have to make sure you run the correct injector LBS. If you install the wrong LB injector you have to reprogram your ECM. Call Accel hot Line Tech Support for the correct injector for you engine. My car takes 26# injector. I made the mistake of installing 36# injectors....The car ran great for 10Mins ...and then it would break up and run like SH$t. Sumitt has the best price on Accel injectors. $229.00 for a set of 8.
I had Accell injectors in my car for a while. At first they were great and I was happy with them. But, after a period of time (almost a couple of years)the car got so that it woud not start when it was warmed up. I finially figured out that the injectors were not firing well once they warmed up. I checked everything possible with the fuel delivery system, fuel pressure, looked for pulses at the injectors with a scope, etc...They simply were not firing correctly when they got warm. Once I got the vette started it would run but with noticable shortcommings. So, I stuck in a set of Bosch injectors from 50 Motorsports and my problem immeadiatlly disappeared, and has never returned. You have to experience being in a Vette that died at the redlight in heavy traffic to really have an innate disgust for the Accell injectors.
If Accells are really Bosh injectors, they must be the rejects swept up of of the floor at the end of the day.
If you have a set that are working well right now, fine, but I'll warn you not to feel too complacent.
Maybe I just got a bad set, does that make you feel more complacent?
I did some research into the Accels awhile back and found that the high impedance injectors they sell are their own "private label" brand and are manufactured by a company called RAM that I think they said was somewhere on the east coast, possibly in NJ. The low impedance injectors Accel sells are manufactured by Bosch or Siemens/Deka depending on the flow rate of the injector.
I have been running ACCEL #24 lbs for three years now and no problems. I bought them from Summit. I also bought an AFPR and guage to fine tune the flow. Good Luck.
Chris
I've also been running Accel 24's, but for only like 3000 miles now with no problems. The guy at Mid America told me that they are a new design that overcame the problems of the past. Never know what you can believe from sales people though. Guess I'll have to wait and see but for now it runs very good.
