Default EBC Brake pads

Hi,

Has anyone here run the green or the red EBC brake pads??? What were your opinions?

Many thanks

Chris

Been using them for a few years. I will put them on our C5 when the stock ones go out.

I've got my first pair of green's on now. They seem to function just fine and they don't seem to create as much dust as others I have tried.

Don't overlook the SBS ProTouring Ceramics: they are everything I wanted in a pad.

I have the EBC GreenStuff Pads but, they dust a lot more than the PFC-Z pads I had before. I'm going to switch back after the GreenStuff pads wear out.

I use the green, they work well and they do dust (not any more that the stock pads), but it is a light color, and easy to wipe off with a towel. I may try something different next time, but not because I don't like the EBC, I would buy them again.

Thank you everyone for your comments, sounds like they are not too bad of a pad.

Wore out too fast for me. I much prefer the SBS ceramic (says ceramic but they are for the street). They give me just as much stop,... and are lasting longer.

I use the Greenstuff pads on my 87 autocross car. Great cold initial bite for the street and I have not seen any brake fade with them. I have done a couple of track days with them and they do very well.

They don't dust too bad and even track use, they don't dust anywhere near as bad as the Hawk pads I ran.

These pads are also very easy on rotors. I installed a set of cheapie stock type rotors last year and they don't really show any abnormal wear. I should be able to run this year on these rotors and chuck em for another set of generic replacement rotors.

I'm interested in SBS street pad if it produces less noise.
How good or bad from noise standpoint ?

Greenstuff:

significant improvement in stopping power & control over the stock pads (especially when cold)

dust is equal to worse

wear out quickly - lasted 2 seasons for me which is about 5K street miles and 200 1/4 mile passes.

Hi
I have an 85 z-51, 4+3.
The stock brakes on the 85 is just terrible. I have sweated many times and searched for how to get better brakes. Tried the semimetallic and they were somewhat better.
I was recommended the greenstuff and tried them with sceptisism. They had very much better initial bite and better stop power. I am now satisfied with them and I think I cannot await much better brakes from a single piston caliper.

Every once in a while, I will get a squeel. Does not bother me at all.
Other than that,.. the anti rattle tab's are not rubber filled,... like previous units. They rattled in Rev, until I adj the tabs. (Minor) Prolly bent during install.
I'll get SBS next time as well.

Ref: SBS ProTouring = Mild squeal when new, perfectly quiet after about 600 miles.
