Spark Plug prices?

I could be wrong, but I thought i was told before that I could get NGK TR55 plugs for around $1.XX a piece at your local auto stores. I went the other day and found out they were over $3.XX/each. and the AC Delcos were around the same price, if not more? Is this right? I just want to get this straight before I pay too much for some spark plugs. Thanks guys.

Advanced Auto Parts sells NGK TR6's for less than $2/each. I would think that the TR55's would be the same price.
