I need to remove my driveshaft on my 1987 so I can replace the u-joints that I suspect are causing some strange noises (found out it was not the rear bearing or u-joints that I suspected).
Is there any way to remove it without having to remove the exhaust system and the C beam? Just call me lazy, but if there's a way to do it that doesn't entail all this, I'd appreciate knowing about it.
TIA
Brad

I had to remove my C-beam to get the driveshaft out. There just wasn’t enough forward movement in the slip yoke to clear the rear flange.
It was a B****. Hope mine is the only one like that.
Agree cat back has to come out. C-beam can and will be tricky. I was able to get my shaft out but with heavy duty U-joints couldn,t get it back. Ended up grinding about .010 off the lip of the C-beam.
Thanks guys! I appreciate it. At least I can leave the front half of the exhaust in place. Guess I better start spraying down the bolts on the cat with penetrating oil and brace for impact.
