mine did
also the wiring at the connection of the knock sensor has a tendency to shrink back and expose the bare wires, over time.

in my '85 l98:
a Check Engine light, with a code 43...
code 43, means faulty knock sensor...
false knocks don't really have anything to do with a faulty sensor-
false knocks is more indicative of an ESC needed upgraded
