It's 'heavin' if you're talking Fords.
It's 'heaven' if it's Chevys.
John Lingenfelter says he’s more impressed by a strong, normally aspirated engine than big numbers caused by blowers or nitrous. As an example, his way-too-light 427ci all-aluminum Mouse motor is based on a GM Performance Parts aluminum 4.125-inch-bore Bow-Tie block, a 4-inch stroke, and a set of hungry SB2 heads. With a mechanical-roller cam and an SB2 intake plumbed for a 1200-cfm multipoint EFI, the engine erupts with a stupefying 628 horsepower through the cats! Reality check: Planted in a new Corvette, the mighty Mouse cranked to a top end of 214.7 mph
Why must there be an "enemy" at all? They are simply different forms of competition. If we can't compete, then we have to step up.
I dispise that Chevy is leaving IRL cause Toyota and Honda are kicking their ***. It was fine when Chevy literally owned the IRL... but now they have some competition, they are taking their toys and going home.
Our real "enemy" is complacency.
I gotta say, I dont much care for the wanna be street racers that think that they can strap a coffee can on a civic and dominate. But, I just watched an episode of nopi tuner-vision on speed channel and I have to admit, those ricers that are sqeezing 6-7 second 1/4 miles out of 4 cylinders are due a little respect. I still like American iron better anyways. But I can still respect.
That SB2 that LPE built was for Car and Driver's 40th anniversary; it was in a 1995 Corvette and was fully emissions compliant. LPE had it for sale on their site for a LONG time.

That is not very much power, for just an exotic setup. I'm sure the emmissions part cost come power, but still, its a A LOT of $$ for only a little over 600 beans
