I want to replace my stock mufflers with ones that have more sound. I looked into the eliminators but would rather go with a differnt sound. Does anyone know of any out there? I have heard of Texas Exhuast mufflers but I can't find any info on them. if anyone has a link that would be great.
One more thing, I want to keep the stock exhaust tips if possible.

...and therein lies the problem. On many vehicles, replacing the muffler is just that - a simple job. On our cars, 1) we have two, and 2) the factory tips are welded to them. When you go out and buy Flowmaster or Magnaflow mufflers, they obviously don't come with tips. If you are dead-set on keeping the factory tips, you're going to have to have some custom work done. If it were me (and this is just one man's opinion), I would search on eBay for a while and try to score some Corsa, Borla, etc. mufflers *only* for a decent price. Not the whole catback - just the mufflers. Then get 'em installed and deal with the tips.
Just curious, but why do you want to keep the factory tips? Is it for "factory look" on a show car? If so, a judge will still notice. Is it to make your car a "sleeper"? If so, your opponent isn't going to know enough about vettes to think to himself, "Hmmm....well he's got factory tips - I can take 'im!" See where I'm going with this? Save yourself the trouble and $$$ and go with something that's more readily available.
I have a 96 I tried muffler eliminators & love em... I dont know if I got more power but I race every week, & I am sure I saved 50 lb.. the eliminators came with STOCK tips already on them..
My car looks stock from the rear, but it doesn't have the big ugly mufflers hanging out back..
Everyone that has heard my car loves the sound.. I like it also except in long trips (over 50 miles) then its kinda loud..

I just like the look of the tips.. I wanted to stay away from the round tips.. but if I can find a muffler with square tips or something like that it would work to. I will check out ebay and thanks for the advice..
I also di dthe elims(but you saw those) If you want mufflers, go with Magnaflow, they sound great. If you want to spend some money, get a Corsa cat back.

I want the Corsa but the $$$ is allot right now. I'll saw a 94 this week that had stock tale pipes and it looked like the old glass pack style muffler and it sounded awesome. I just can't find the muffler anywhere. I will be talking to the guy later this week so I'll post what I find out..
Hey missed you at the Casino's.. had a good time..
