code 32...see inside
so what gives?....
temp 194 for winter is all i replace this weekend.. did nothing else.. car seems to run and idle ok.
87 L98...
Your 88 has a temp sensor located on the top of the EGR tube (right side of engine next to the dist.) If the wire is broken, stripped and grounded, porcelin cracked or some other malady, code 32 shows up. Same thing on the EGR solenoid. If your EGR valve has a leak (check this with a vacuum pump and a small mirror) code 32.
I'm not sure on the 88, but a free flowing exhaust (removed precats, free-flow cat, free flow mufflers) eliminates some backpressure that is necessary for the ECM to read the EGR stuff.
Check the search engine for "egr - code 32" and read all the posts.
Good luck -

what i did was replace heater core(had to remove ecm), then replaced thermisthat with 192, (had 160 before)...seems to runn fine ...threw code this morning while driving in -1 weather....
You still have the command line from the ECM to the EGR solenoid and the feedback line from the EGR temp sensor. All you need to do is install a diode or relay between these two lines so that when the ECM calls for EGR it "sees it", or you can have the EPROM changed to avoid calling for EGR.

the doide is the easier of the two (relay)?"command line from the ECM to the EGR solenoid and the feedback line from the EGR temp sensor" .....there must be some knida color code for the wire...zes just don't ya hated when you how to fix it, but without specific detailed instruction, " priceless"
