Ok, got Hedman headers on there, the stock wires don't work. I need a set that has 90 degree boots on all 8(or at least 7(cylidner 7 can still use a straight boot)). They also need to be longer than stock to reach over the valve covers? They also have to be able to connect to an optispark(You know, LT1). I keep burning up wires, my last attempt(using 4 different brands), has failed(wire melted to header).
What wires do I get? Am I out of luck? If all else fails I'm off to purchase a couple more sets from Autozone and form my own dam kit.
If you want MSD sells a custom set. Basically they are all too long with the optispark end already attached. You then just purchase whatever you need to make up the other end and you cut them to whatever length you want.
You'll be hard pressed to find a set that goes over the valvecovers for the LT1. There isn't a good way to route them behind the accessory bracket and it requires a LOT of extra length to do it.
I decided to go the Autozone route. I purchased a set for a 93 Camaro(8 90 degree boots), this combined with my 7 good wires on the car, I was able to route the wires over the headers. They don't quite reach over the valve covers but by zip tieing them away from the headers, they should be fine.
BTW, Taylor also makes a universal LT1 set as well. www.racenet.net sells them for the 93-97 Camaro. I'll probably go with them one day when I have the money dress the engine up. Right now it's a full time job keeping it running.
I just went through this situation. I had a brand new set of Taylor Spiro Pro's with ten miles on them and they wouldn't fit behind the headers. So the shop ordered a set of wires and they didn't work either. Then I ordered a new set of Taylor Spiro Pro 135* universals from Summit and they sent me the wrong set that didn't have the opti spark boots. After calling Summit they overnighted for free the opti spark boots. So I stop by the shop yesterday and apparantly after looking at the new Taylor wires the shop decided not to use them (not long enough?) and again ordered another set of wires. They've put on this set and they look good - they're huge I think they're MSD but I can't remember. So now I need to try to return the Taylor universal set and the opti spark boots, I already gave away my other brand new set of Taylors. Finish the @#%* car already!

I have a good pair of coax crimpers that I bought when building my house because I put in a lot of coax. They worked like they were made for crimping the plug wires! Then the small crimp that you make for the core can be crimped with most anything. The instructions that come with the MSD ends are good.
