Default Gutting the main cat or test pipe

Installed hooker 2149 lT headers.
My car seems another car! It feels like I added 50 hp!
The Power (or better the torque) come in much more earlier that before!
Starting from 1800 rpm I can her 2 times the power than before..
The stock headers are so restrictive on a L98...
Before: Stock header + '85 Y pipe without precats + 3 way (supposed to be Hi flow) main cat + Flowmaster catback system.
Now: 2149 Hooker super competition Headers + 3 way (supposed to be Hi flow) main cat + Flowmaster catback system.
Is there someone with a similar combo that supposed that backpressure can be lowered more with a test pipe or a pipe in the stock Main cat?
And the sound ? It will be too loud?
I like the sound now But only from 1800 and UP or only when I depress the gas pedal to 50% or more...
At Idle it's the same as before (to much "puff" , chocked, suppressed..) I will like better a suond much more "clean", "sharp".

Thanks

I have 2149s, no cats, borla rear y-pipe and 40 series Flows. It sounds great and flows very well. Going to no cats on an L98 is a fairly good gain.
