I am using the 12497978's with a superram and 1.6 roller rockers and I didn't have to change anything. They fit perfect.
They don't have the oiling drip tabs do they? I'm not interested in grinding those out too.
BTW Thanks for info re AFR heads and leaks. I haven't had problems yet but I'll watch closely.
As far as vacuum leaks, I haven't got there yet but would suspect that it might be a problem. I don't like the screws that connect the plenum to the runners. They are difficult to tighten adequately.

Heh. When asked for a torque spec, LPE says just "tighten until tight." Make sure you use gasket maker along with the LPE paper gaskets.
I had my mechanic put helicoils in some of the runners' holes so I could drive six of the screws down from the inside. Makes life a lot easier.
And I had to pull the plenum AGAIN tonight. Now I've got a gas leak (that's NOT good) around one of the injectors. Not sure if it came loose from the rail, or if the gasket down in the manifold is messed up, or what. I'm hoping I don't have to pull the runners again as well... I just got the whole thing back together!
