Default SES Light

Occassionaly my SES light comes on. When I read the code it gives me an H43. The light only stays on a short time and the car runs perfect. It DOES NOT go into limp home mode. Today I went over a railroad track a little aggresively and the light came on but the car was pulling strong. I understand that this code is for the knock sensor and when it fails the car should go into limp home mode is that correct. I am wondering were the sensor is located so I can check for a lose wire or perhaps the sensor has come loose. I know the manuls would tell some of this but you see Santa has not come to my house yet although I have my fingers crossed as I have not been over 140MPH this month yet. I have a 93 LT1

The sensors are located about mid point on each side of the block...just above the oil pan. They are each covered by a black tin shield that is held on by 2 --(10mm nuts as I recall).
