MSR is correct, there is a USB to Serial adapter box to check in datamaster, also a box just for vettes that disables the handshake between the ECM and the digidash. I tried all of those and couldnt get mine to work.
Im trying to get some time to try it on a friends laptop (he has a serial port) and see if it all works there. Ive burned up 5 *free* runs on datamaster with no logging actually taking place.
I would love to have it work on tunerpro, because thats what I use to edit, but datamaster looks to have some nice features too. It would be nice to have something faster than WinALDL's 160baud, but at least I have something.

Well here goes !
Control panel /device mgr./properties/!!!DO NOT TRY TO RESET YOUR COM PORT!!!! YOU WILL KILL!CRASH!WIPE OUT YOUR COMPUTER!!!
Now that you are looking at your systems, shut off all!!!!! INFER RED devices by going into properties ,all things including if a lap top kill the external mouse.
Now here is a big one shut off if you have it installed the MODEM!!! and the printer ,shut down your computer and then it should work as long as the computer conector is connected to the car and key is turned to on,your computer when it comes on line should work then,I think?

My idea of a kick butt "package" is;
ECM communications hardware (USB / Serial) and diagnostic software.
Data collection software.
ECM file modification software.
PROM eraser and rewriter hardware and software.
And a set of general DIY instructions on how to pull your current ECM program off the chip, save it, modify it and burn it back to the ECM.
Some of the packages offered have most of the parts included, "but you may also need one of these and one of those". Huh? Don't ask me what I MIGHT need. It took a weekend to figure out which ECM I had and what all the shortened number jargon was all about. Lots of guys out here are looking for a complete turn key product and wouldn't mind spending the money for something understandable and that works.
Right now you offer a good line of parts and Prominator has a convienient product that all but eliminates the upload hassels.
Now if there was an off the shelf package for an 86 L98 Corvette......
