Air Foil ?
I bought one of these for my Dad for X mas, he has a 96 Lt4, thought it would be a nice cheap gift. I remember guys using these on TPI cars back in the late 80's. I don't see it making 14 hp, possibly on a blower motor, will he even notice it at all ? Hi rpms maybe ? TIA

mmmmm
those turbo trans ams are fast and pretty rare ... how many of those were made? You've got the Grand National motor and turbo right?

What you do have to watch out for is it staying in place or rather, not staying in place. The L98 one bolts in, the LT1 doesn't. I've heard many stories about folks who took the intake duct off only to find the air foil in the duct sideways rather than on the TB.

How did we go from air foils to turbo T/A,s?
Can we talk about the T/A's now? That would be more interesting than airfoils.

If I'm not mistaken 1BADDAM has one of these bad boys.

And yes, I have therefore admitted guilt into buying one of these....

Before I make this statement... I am not a supporter of these. But... they smooth out the intake flow at higher RPM's and it does make a difference if you are running a considerable amount of power, but it is still not enough to warrant the purchase of one on it's own. I will also add that you don't find too many high hp applications that aren't using one. If you ever plan on doing any additional mods on the car that will warrant the extra airflow characteristics of the airfoil then *maybe* it is worth it... but otherwise it is a cosmetic upgrade that you don't get to see.

welcome to the forum! Yeah the air foil might help smooth out the air flow a little bit. It won't take away any horsepower so the only thing it can hurt is your wallet.

1555 were made. Yep, basically same GN shortblock, intake, and turbo. Intercooler is the one off the GNX, rest is TTA specific.
Well hell, my old man is 70 so the Vette doesn't see more than 5k unless I'm driving it.
Well hopefully I can persuade his *** dynothat mine feels a difference. I guess that's why the say its the thought
that counts. Thanks for all the input.

The problem is that the airfoil, header, and throttle body topics pour SODA (Same Opinion Different A$$hole) on the topic. Not intending to insult anyone... I just like that phrase.
Hell... I'm included in that mix

Simply put... there are far better things that can be done to a relatively stock car that will produce more power for the almighty $$$.
