Need help finding knock module
I picked up an LT4 knock module and need to put it on I just can't find it! Sorry I know this is a stupid question!

1) raise the front of the car... secure it with jackstands, of course...
2) crawl under and take a look.... next to the engine block, bolted to the oil pan are metal plates. those plates jut off the pan bolts, those plates are heat shields for the knock sensors.
3) remove those plates. There are 2 10mm bolts on each plate. don't worry about harming the oil pan gasket, these plates are attached to studs.
4) before you go much farther, you will want to drain the coolant.
5) relocate your coolant catch, and remove the knock sensor. A lot more coolant will come out.
6) repeat on other side.
As an aside, the knock sensors are the block drains.
before you put it all together, lightly torque down the oil pan bolts... just to be sure.

There is a confusion and a difference between the Knock Module and a Knock Sensor. The knock sensor goes into the block and functions like a microphone. The knock module goes into the computer and somehow helps to interpret the input from the knock sensor.
Here's the kicker, only 94-96 cars use the module. The 92-93 cars have no provision for an LT4 knock module.
If you have a knock sensor, do what Bogus says. If you have a knock module, see if you can return it for a refund or sell it in the parts for sale section.

wow I feel pretty stupid it looks like I didn't need the module - no wonder I couldn't find it

Back in the day I almost ordered one for mine. Actually I think I was going to but a friend who's car currently wasn't running was going to let me borrow his. We quickly determined that there was nowhere to put it.

ok I don't feel so bad I was at the shop and we're looking all over the place and I'm like dang where does this thing go!?
