Default Any differance LT1 or LT4 Plug wires?

I was looking up plug wires for my LT-4 and the AC Delco brand wires are $155 per set, where the 92 to 95 LT-1 wires are $60 per set. Now I would think that a plug wire is a plug wire and it shouldn't make that big of a differance. MSD wires are like $80 which still don't list LT-4. I know that my car has Taylors on it now and I have a slight miss under low RPM but I'm doing plugs over the winter and figured since I'm doing plugs I'll do the wires as well. I just was wondering if there is any GOOD reason to put the Delco LT-4 wires on over either set of LT-1 wires?

I doubt you'd see any difference between stock LT1 and LT4 wires... Just make sure whatever you get is for a 96+ car as the coil connector is different (smaller) for the later cars...

I had an MSD wire set and the coil wire was wrong for my car due to the design change for 96...

I doubt the other wires are different though...

Just go with another set of Taylors... I've used them and never had any problems with them...

Other than the color there is no difference. With one exception, the 1996 coil wire was different on the LT4 because of the new coil hi-voltage connection. Basically it was the same male type connection as what is found on the opti side. The previous year coil had a male end that was like the earlier HEI male cap connections.

It's the same regardless of whether or not you have an LT1 or LT4 for 96... I've had both for 96 and they're the same...

The MSD set comes with both the LT1 and LT4 coil wires, that way they don't have to have two different part numbers for the kit.

Don't the LT4 wires come with "LT4" printed on them?

I just can't believe that people would even think of spending $155 on STOCK wires it just seems crazy to me. Heck even the ZR1 wires aren't that bad, with the boots on them. At least that was an EASY choice to make, stock or hi-perf, most of the time you have to weigh the extra money you spend on an "upgrade". Looks like the Vet will get it's Christmas present early.

If they do then that's something new...

When I bought an MSD kit about 4 years ago I had to have MSD make me a new coil wire... The got it wrong 3 times and I finally made my own out of two bad ones they sent me... Hopefully they got it right now...

My kit came with two wires, but both were wrong for my application... From what I remember, both were for the 95 and below LT1, just different lengths...

Thats nuts for a set of factory red wires. I will check my buddy at GMPD and see what I can get a set for. Normally I can get a dealer price for them, $155 seem way out in left field. The wires for a 96 LT1 would be the same other than the red color difference.

No they do not. I think all the original LT1 and LT4 wires do have the cylinder numbers written on them, but the GM replacement wires do not.

that was a major PITA figuring out which wire goes to what cylinder. however, The LTCC conv. solved that problem
