I think some well known member here on the forum just scored a set on Ebay. I won't mention any names in case he wishes to remain anonymous. Either that or this person's Ebay handle is a hell of a coincidence. I thought about bidding on them too but they got out of my current budget range towards the end.

Yes I won the set on ebay, because I've been waiting for a set since February on the PE waiting list. At some point, you get tired of waiting you know.

They said this week what parts they did and didnt have in stock when I called to check before upping my bids. They dont have any capsules or pipes or tips, only adapters and hangers.

Well congrats and I think you got them at a very good price, none the less.

Better late than never to the thread. I've had mine for about 5 years & love em too. TPIS long tubes, straight thru cat & the PE. Also love the fact that I can shut them down for trips or if I'm going to be somewhere late at night where I don't want to 'disturb the peace'. :-)

Deals can be had... I picked up my set for $300 from a local used-car dealer who had to take them off a Vette he received as trade-in. Apparently they were too loud for the state dealer inspection (me thinks they didn't have them closed, or one open/one closed). I stopped to look at the Vette, and walked away with the exhaust. Y-pipe, hangers, and both pods, in great shape.

Keep your eyes open.

How much does a power effects system run? I heard they were around 3g for a new setup. Where is the best place to find used ones?

Dang you sound just like me, I went to a local used lot last year that had a 96 with side exhust, I had seen the car running around town with them on and then one day went by the lot and the car didn't have them on anymore. I asked what happened and he said everybody that drove the car said they were to loud so he put a stock exhaust on to sell the car, when I asked what happened to the side exhaust he said the guy at the shop keep it for payment for putting the new one on. So to the shop I went and walked back out with their side exhaust kit for $100, it was missing the center collector and some hanger and jacking plates but I spoke with Joe last week and everything I need to mount it up is only $300 so I got a $1600 system for 25%cost

Strick, it's pure luck... being in the right place at the right time. Wish it happened to me more often!

Brett, awesome deal! Side pipes were my first want, but we have too many big speed bumps around here.

LT1Corvette, their L98 system started around $900 and their LT1 was about $1200 (extra pipe). This was a couple years ago and prices probably have gone up, but they weren't ever close to $3k.

I guess "supply problems" would explain why they weren't at Carlisle last time I was there.

I have them on my LT4. Sounds great open and closed. The really cool thing is they give you a choice. Loud or not so loud. Cant beat that!

Does anyone know exactly why this exhaust system isn't being produced? I know a lot about production issues, metal production and extrusions. I may be able to help this guy get his production back up and running.

I've probably spoken with Joe 10 times this year and it always comes up.

The company thats making them is a subcontractor to GM, and they've spent alot of money retooling the plant, and as such are having some casting problems after the switchover. Then, with PE being a small volume seller, theyre basically at the bottom of the totem pole as far as getting up and running.

Got 'em on my 383 and they sound AWESOME!!! One of my buddies thinks my car is too loud but I don't care what he says. I've always told him that's the way the Vette should sound in the first place.
