Default ? where to get high temp Caliper paint

...I have seen some in the Catalogs, but it is usually part of an overpriced kit.

I just want brush on paint, for use on calipers or underhood items (looking to add some Red this winter!)

Thanks,

Andy

Dupli Color makes high temp ceramic spray colors that are available in the auto section at Wal-Mart that works pretty good. Ive had it on mine for like 8 mos. now. (see sig)

I painted mine in March with plain old (Duplicolor) spray paint, NOT heat resistant. Drove all summer and they still look good. I think you don't need the high temp paint unless you're into sporting events.

yeah I used regular gloss enamel on my calipers and they look great. No sign of heat problems whatsoever.

Same here...I painted mine with Rustoleum from Home Depot...no problems whatsoever....if you road race a lot and really glow up the rotors that's different...for everyday and drag racing use regular paint works perfectly...

With you guys for the most part but for a whopping $3 more you can have the high temp ceramic. Long term, I'd say it's worth it.

Default I am using red engine enamel.....

It is manufactured for high heat and long lasting and works real well. Make sure you clean the caliper surface with a brake cleaner and get the surface clean.

Where did you get it? Car store or Home Depot?

I do Road race, in fact, next year, I hope to step it up a bit to do more than one event. So I will need the high temp stuff.

I also wanted high temp for under hood stuff, like the fuel rail covers, I thought it'd be cool if I could just paint-in the embossed "Corvette" lettering.

I bought the brush on duplicolor kit from advance that's specifically for this purpose. Works great.

You could also go the spraycan route, but spray it into an old Kool-Aid container or something - then brush it on from there.
