The more I think about this the more I think I'm just going to do it.
When my EM long tubes show up, I'm going to just pull all the emissions crap out. I don't need cats in MI so that's no problem. What all can I remove? What do I need to block off? and the last and most important is ------- Will removing the EGR and blocking off the holes make the System light come on and give me a code?
two years ago my air pump went out and I pulled the pump. That gave me a code, so I plugged it in but without the pump it's self. So I know I can get around that part, I just don't know about the blocking off the EGR holes in the intake and what that would do.

EGR valve, secondary air injection pipes, AIR pump and associated tubing.

You'll need to block off the EGR and air injection holes at the back of the intake. TPiS has a nice set on their website (www.tpis.com). You will also need to get a new tune to program out the codes for missing EGR and AIR pump.
It's a piece of cake and really helps clean up the engine compartment.

All you need is a 1996 LT4 egr block off plate with gasket sold at any GM dealer. Cost is around $5. On long drives it will set a code so programming is recommended.
Ok now how would I reprogram it on a 93? It does not have a flashable chip.
It may 1993 was a split year. My car is an early 1993 and I have an ECM with a removable chip. Late 93 they switched to PCM. Please verify which you have.
Umm, ok. I had a hypercrap chip at one time so I am assuming that I have a removable one. Right? I don't know crap about this stuff, but I'm trying to learn.

Yes, and don't worry about it we are all her for the same thing, an education. This forum is amazing!

If the car was manufactured in '93 as a '94 model year, then it will use a PCM like the '95-'96 have. I know of no '93 models with a PCM (they all have flashable EEPROMS).

You are correct! The reason I ask is I have found people that mistake what year their car is.
