damn! forgot to put the gasget between waterpump and block, only used RTV silicon (right stuff). should work right, no need to take everything off again?? :o
If you let the RTV set for 24 hours, test it... but be prepared to replace when it blows... if it blows. It more than likely will be ok. There is only a pound or 2 of water pressure there...
I know you can do it on the SBC, it's the Pontiac 400 you can't do that with - oil and coolant run next to each other causing wierd pressure differences, blowing out the RTV. A friend of mine with a Trans Am learned that the hard way... milkshake in the crankcase.
