I have searched but can't find my answer. For those that drive there vett only minimal miles a year, do you still follow the every 3months/3000 miles protocol? I might take a while to drive 3k miles but on the other hand in 3months I'd only have a couple of hundred miles. When to change?
In your climate (I just moved from the Valley, myself), with that low mileage per year, I don't see any reason why you can't just do an annual change - esPECially if you're running Mobil-1 (which you should be).

What 3mo/3000 miles protocol? The one Jiffy Lube wants you to use?

The age issue depends on how far you drive it when you do. Short hops to the corner store and like are the WORST thing for an engine, due mostly to not being at operating temperature long enough. This does play havoc with a lubricants chemical properties (i.e. viscosity breakdown), but if you change it annually, you're alright. Also... use a GOOD synthetic oil (my preference is Mobil1), as opposed to conventional oil. ALWAYS change the oil filter when changing oil, even with synthetics. It's false economy to do otherwise, regardless of what oil company's sales pitch you read/hear.
