i was wondering if anyone knew where a calculator for psi to hp was and if they could post a link. thanks
There is no way to have an equation that will work all the time for this. 10psi on one car is completely different than 10psi on another car. Boost is directly realted to how much back pressure the air coming into the engine finds. A car with free flowing heads and intake may only show 3 psi with a standard 6psi setup. But with that 3psi will be making more power than say the stock car with 6psi. So to achieve 6psi on the free flowing motor, you need to move lots more air more air more HP. Hope that sort of helps, I tried to keep it nice and easily explainable.
try to think in terms of mass air flow. boost is nothing more than backpressure of air going into the engine. many times, a car with good flowing heads/cam/intake will make more power with less boost because there is more air flowing through the engine.
