Is transgo reprogramming kit same as shift kit with video??
I ordered a Transgo shift kit from www.importperformancetrans.com, for my 700r4 and they show a picture of the Transgo shift kit with free video. When i recieved my shift kit today, it is a blue box that says Tansgo reprogramming kit. I called them up and he was unaware. He said he would have to talk with his web site guy, but he said that this reprogramming kit is the exact same kit as the one with the video, minus the video. Is this true? Is there anything else different about this kit? The paperwork in the box says that it is not a do-it-yourself kit, but only for professional install only. What should I do??
Anyone??? Has anyone here installed one of these kits? Please share your experience. Which kit is better, the one with the video, or the reprogramming kit which does not have video? Does anyone here have the video in .mpg format that can be transfered over internet? Or maybe a used install take for 700r4 trans. Let me know please.
I had the tranny guy put mine in when he was rebuilding it. But I did read thru all the paperwork and he highlighted everything he did and crossed out everthing he didn't do. It seems easy enough, just follow the directions to a "T" and do every thing it says to do and you should be fine.
The kits are pretty much identical in their instructions. The reprogramming kit comes with the hi-rev springs fot the input drum (transmission has to be torn down to do this), and no video. Pay close attention, and you should do ok. If you are not sure of yourself, have a friend or someone who has done this before, help you out on this.
