With the AFR 220 heads do the 1 3/4 headers work without blowing the header gaskets ?

I'm not in the habit of arguing w Jeb and I doubt I'll change your mind, but I doubt you need more the 1.75"
I'm runnig a 415ci w 13:1 .627/.627, 292/298 solid roller, 220cc Prolightnings dry sumped roadrace motor, will spin 7400 all the time and I'm using Howe 1.75s.
My heads will give in midrange and give up on top end, but I wouldn't want to give up anything on the bottom and midrange coming off the corners.
I don't think you need the bigger headers, but how are you going to use the motor?
I though that 1.75 would be big enough but afr said I need 1 7/8
with the 220 heads I only have a 610 roller hyd 355ci stroker cola and eagle rods lt4 manifold. But I was thinking of changing to a dart motor 434 ci at 725 hp?I run 1/4 mile only.
But I get a different answer every time I ask.
Thanks for the info I think you made my desission for me if the ports fit.
Let me know if any of you come up with a 1 7/8 deal. I've been looking for a set for some time, I only found the same EM & Stahl headers. There was one company someone forwarded to me that would bend a 1 7/8 set using their 1 3/4 program but wouldn't weld them up. For whatever reason I couldn't contact them so it fell thru the cracks. I'll try to find the info in the archives and post it here.
