Passive Keyless Entry computer module

Help installing Passive Keyless Entry module
My recently acquired '94 LT1, 6spd is my first computer vette out of six I've owned. The dealer tells me the PKE module needs to be replaced and I can't just bolt/plug it in myself because it has to be "programmed". Is that true? I'm not computer savvy but they don't scare me either. I can follow the instructions to program the key fob. How difficult is this? Is this a job that's best left to the dealer?

Check the C4 tech tips section, it will tell you in detail how to program the PKE system.
