Default Santa got me

Well yesterday I made a bad joke about Santa and this morning my brand new Opti took a dive. I must say as much as I love the LT1 and am growing to really hate the Opti. I have gone through Two Opti’s in the last month and am starting to get very upset. The brand new Opti I used when I rebuilt my motor had a dead miss only at 4000 RPM, replaced the opti problem solved but I noticed that the car would run a little rough first thing in the morning with the new, new Opti. Then this morning shortly after the bad Santa joke I start the car drive it out of the driveway and park it to move my truck then when I get in it to restart it, it just cranks but wont start. I needed to get to work so I take the truck. When I get home I test for spark and nothing, so I start to diagnose it when wham it starts. So I mount my new Z06 Wheels, Santa isn’t all bad and thanks to Glassman for a great deal, so any how I go to take the car for a spin and the SES light comes on and the car starts running like poo. I hook up free scan and find I have trouble codes 16 and 42 . I knew that all symptoms pointed to the opti from the first day I installed it but was in denial, well it looks like another long day tomorrow. Well no more cracks about Santa and I will try to be a good boy or the next two days, really I will.

Are you using the early or late opti? And these are new and not remans, right?

I don't have the opti/thank Santa .. but I've watched my mechanic do a couple recently .. one thing he does is to drill out the bottom drain hole of the water pump and put a fitting on it and a drain hose on it so the water from the bottom of the pump doesn't run directly into the opti. According to him, as he has done quite a few (dumb design) LOL.

Sorry to hear of your problem. My friend is dealing with that crap on his Camaro. I hope I don't have to deal with it for some time. Have you considered the Delteq? I don't know squat about it... but I hear it helps. I may look into that in the future, but I don't have a need for it now.

95 Opti and they are A/C delco. I heard a rumor that they had a bad run of the optical wheels a while back and think the prts store may have got a bad batch so I decided this time to get my money back and buy straight from a local chevy house. One good thing is I am becoming good at R&Ring OPtis, had the whole thing pulled in about 45 min this morning.
