Default Question installing Ford injectors

I am in the process of installing my TPIS intake and AS&M semi-siamised runners and decided it was a good time to replace injectors at the same time.
I bought a set of flow matched 24# Ford injectors and noticed they are shorter than the factory '87 injectors.
Will this affect anything?
Will they work ok as is or do I need to do anything to them to use them for my application?
Do I use the retainer clips off the stock ones or install them without clips?
What pressure do you normally run the Ford injectors at?
Thanks for the help.

Anyone have any experience with these injectors?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to all.

The accel injectors I installed were a smidge shorter than the stock ones. It didn't matter at all. They weren't quite as snug in the fuel rail as the old ones (i can still move them around a bit and sort of 'rotate' them even when they're installed) but it didn't matter. Not leaks, etc. If the clips fit, absolutely use them.

As far as FP I guess you could back it off a couple of psi although I gather the proper method of doing things is to have a new prom burned that adjusts injector pulse width, etc.

Robert being slightly shorter won't hurt a thing. You may want to consider getting a custom prom burned for your new injectors. As the Fords rate their flow rates at a lower pressure than our GM cars. Fords are rated at 39 PSI vs 43.5 PSI for GM. Which means that the Ford injectors will actually flow slightly more than their rated flow of 24 lbs to about 25 lbs/hr. Your injectors are probably 22 lb/hr which means that the ECM will have to trim back the fuel trims to adjust for the larger injectors. It is a simple programming change to accomadate the new injector size. Don't get too worried over this as your ECM will be able to compensate and your car will run fine as many has done this very conversion many times over. It is just that you would optimize it by having the correct injector size in the prom.

The injectors were flow tested and matched at 43.5 psi by Ron at
Cruzin Performance before I got them and they were still sealed in the bags with the flow rates.
They flow from 24 lbs to a high of 25 lbs per hour at 43.5 psi.
Thanks for the replys and help.
I will be getting a custom chip by ski_down_it in the very near future as soon as I finish getting all the parts together.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas
