Default Finally have some dyno #'s

Went with my son last Wed. out to FLP in Naperville to get the car dyno'd. The numbers seemed a little less than what I expected, at least compared to some of the numbers I see posted on the Forum here. But what seems strange is the the 1/4 mile times are slower and the mph's are about the same or slower than what mine are. Anyway, the dynojet said 335hp@5500 and 367tq@4300. My setup and time in sig. Any ideas for the fairly large differences in my car and some of the others on the board here?

Those dyno #'s aren't bad, and your ET and 60' times are great.

Well we all know that dynos can differ but who cares? Your ETs look plenty stout!

I would worry about the dyno too much. Your track time speaks the loudest.

BTW ... fast Vette you have there

Your HP, MPH, and ET are very close to what my car had with the 355 and similar mods.

Don't at all worry about the numbers you put out. Its just another prime example of a car running GREAT numbers, and the dyno numbers being out of wack (with comparison to cars that don't run the track numbers, but put up huge HP numbers.)

One thing is for certain - a car might put up good dyno numbers, a car will NOT put up track numbers with out the power. As some said, be happy you have a good TRACK number. Anyone that wants to argue with you they have more power, dyno or whatever - take them to the track and open up a can of whoop azz on them.

Those #'s are great. The best times I got with the 219 setup was 12.4. Don't worry about dyno #'s - the track speaks for itself!!!!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Ski, that's how I look at it. I'll take crossing the line first and let the guy with the bigger #'s explain 2nd place!!! Thanks guys.

I laugh every summer here in my town because they bring in a dyno to the local races the day before the race takes place. All these guys locally here that really do not race on a regular basis - strap their cars on there and measure the past years worth of mods they did.

These guys get increadibly HUGE azz numbers. In the 500+ rwhp range for most. This dyno has to be the most greased up unit ever! Anyways I usually get about 3 phone calls to bring out my car - but never do, as I see its a total waste of 50 dollars per run. And they always talk you into 2-3 more. So by the time you leave your 200 beans poorer.

The next day while these guys are still all "puffy-chested" we run at the airport track through the 1/4 mile. I beat every one of them by at least 2-3 cars, pulling on them BIGTIME at the topend. Some I beat by a rediculous amount - like a 1/4 of the track.

These guys in comparison to my car and their obtained dyno #s think I am making over 800rwhp. My setup is LUCKY to be making a TRUE 600+ fwhp. Its probably more in the 570fwhp range. Believe me its VERY hard to make N/A power. That would be about 450rwhp, so use that as a reference to some of the numbers you see posted on this board and with these number not even in the 11s when they hit the track. That means they are 2 sec slower, with nearly the same HP.

At the end of the day, I am being honest with my HP numbers, and obviously my ETs. And I am sure these dyno print outs are true, in that they obtained them. But reality says something is WAY WAY off, hence my reasoning for saying dyno #s are . If your interested in BIG dyno numbers let me know and I will tell you when the greased dyno will be here in town. I will have to check after it leaves next time where it was sitting, there is probably an oil slick - similiar to the Exonvaldese

Kwik88, what #'s do you have in the quarter??? I think for the power the car is making, i should have better #'s.....what do you think??

Your Dyno #'s are a little low compaired to a 6 speed car because it seems that the bigger stalls, even though you have a fairly mild one, seem to scew the dyno #'s. I have seen 2 LS1 cars with big stalls, 3800+ put down low dyno #'s (330 RWHP) then stick a 11.7, full weight car, and a 11.3, considerable weight reduction. A 6 speed will show more HP and run a slower ET so just look at your 11.7 as a point of refernce, my guess is if you had a 6 speed it would show over 390 RWHP.

I'm not overly concerned with the dyno #'s. I think they're a better way of comparing mods on the car, as long as you use the same dyno. I'll let the timing lights at the track be the judge!!
