What sounds good with no resonance? Just picked my 93 LT1 up from the exhaust shop and am not crazy about the sound. My setup is Hooker LTs, no cats, no resonator, stock LT1 mufflers. Sounds good @ WOT but sounds like a flat tire @ idle.

That is a very good option!!! I am running Hooker AeroChambers and I love them. There is no interior resonance at idle or WOT... however, there is some in 6th gear below 1500rpm. I've also heard the Dynomax race magnums and those sound good too. Flowmasters give the car a powerful sound, but I thought it produced too much interior noise... but that is just my opinion.
Try something unique... that's why I went with Hooker. Any 2½" offset in center out will work on the car. Just a matter of $$$ and what you want.
Just had a 3" X-pipe installed to replace the resonator and two Max Speed mufflers installed on my 93 LT1 and I'm very happy. Not loud but throaty trhrough the rev range and no resonance that I've found yet.
The mufflers have dual square rolled tips in super posished stainless 404 and look great!
I've have Borla mufflers, x-pipe and long tube hookers and that thing resonates. Whoever installs the mufflers make sure the hangers do not rub against the rear aluminum bumper.

You are running stock and it is too loud? That's surprising. I still have my cats and resonator and my AeroChambers sound powerful, but refined and quiet. I know most people prefer to have a loud in your face kind of car... but a vette needs no introduction... everyone already knows they are fast. I didn't see a need to flaunt it any more.

You wouldn't believe how much better the stock exhaust can sound once you get the engine really breathing. I'm currently running full, stock LT4 exhaust with long tube headers. Along with the big heads and other engine mods, it sounds awesome, especially at WOT. Still, it is not overbearing and won't wake the dead, and NO resonance. Soon I'll be installing new, much better headers and will replace the resonator with bullet cats. I'd love to install more free flowing mufflers but am afraid of the resonance. I had that problem once with some straight through muffs and I don't want it again. I may install some cut outs beyond the cats eventually for track use. This is why I'm selling my new, unused Corsas, I like the sound now just the way it is.
