Ok so I take one of the wheels off to check the brakes out and to my suprise the stick on wheel weights that were susposed to be there were gone. Must of fell off, is this normal?

Sometimes if they don't clean the surface well, or it's humid out (raining) then they don't stick well and will come off.
When I took mine in for stick on weights, I used simple green cleaner and a brush and cleaned the inner wheel surface thouroughly. Tire places don't care, they slop the weights on clean or dirty.
The last comment on the second post is well stated! I recommend you get the car up to 70 MPH and see if the "wheel" is balanced. You may be seeing a stick on weight residue from a previous balance....and your tire may be in balance.

I took the wheel off and took it to a local shop and it was out of balance so the weight must of fell off. People that run aftermarket wheels like chrome, polished or black zr1's do they usually run the stick on weights?
For stick-on weights, do clean the wheels yourself before balancing. Also put aluminum tape over the weights. That way, you have no problems. Aluminum tape can be found at hardware stores -- I think that it is used in heating/ac systems. No, not the typical duct tape. It is peel and stick and is aluminum.

I go a step further and use a paint prep like Prep-Sol after washing and drying. One problem is that even if you do clean the wheels there will be some brake dust on the wheels by the time you get to the tire store.
There are a few stores that will clean the area where the weights are going to be applies if you ask them. Take along a spray bottle of cleaner and let them use it.
I gave up on stick-on weights back in my drag racing days when it was still tough to find somebody who could even balance a 13x30 slick. I've never had good luck with them. Any GOOD tire shop with up to date equipment can balance your tires by putting the clamp on weights on the back side of your wheels only. I just had my new ZR1 wheels balanced that way. No weights showing and they won't come unglued.
All flangeless wheels that require curb side balance correction utilize the stick on weights. You can use stick on weights with flanged wheels, just ask for a mid-plane balance. The tire stores can only do a static balance since their equipment cannot do the mid-plane balance. We provide wheel cleaning equipment to the OEM's for the flangeless wheels. Our machinery wipes the inside of the wheel prior to balance. We also provide a small fixture that places the wheel weights on at a high pressure, so they stay on. I agree to clean them yourself and apply the tape.
I've never gone to any of this trouble with cleaning the wheels or putting tape over it, and I've only had them come off once in 20 years. Which was because it was raining when they were applied (at least that was the story the shop told me.)
Now, my wheels are clean to start with, so it's not like there's caked on brake dust that needs to be cleaned off.
Just take them back and ask them to fix it. If you just had it done then they should have no problem with it.
I almost always get tires mounted with lifetime balance/rotation, so if this happened I'd just take them back for a rebalance.
