Corvette Speed Events

Am I reading this correct that you have to do 10 events before you can a license to do speed events?
Geesh-----Even the SCCA is not that strict.
Roger
Sounds like you are referring to NCCC high speed events, where stock Vettes get above 80mph. These events are usually on a road race track and the usual parking lot autox skills could probably get you in a lot of trouble. You generally qualify for an NCCC high speed license with 10 low speeds or a high speed driving school, unless you are in the East Ohio region or East region. In those regions you can only get a high speed license if you do a high speed driving school with a qualified organization. 10 low speed events will not get you a high speed license anymore in those regions (a good idea).
SCCA Solo 1 events require a license too, as well as a fire suit and roll bar and are usually on a road race track. SCCA Solo II does not require a special license, but these are all parking lot events.
